The LWC Level 3 Diploma in Business Finance and Accounting Qualification is a foundation diploma suitable for GSCE graduates, ideally for those who are keen to take the ACCA qualifications as this diploma can lays strong foundation along the way before progressing to enrol to any Certified Accountant, CAT, CIMA, ACCA or LCCI Qualification or the ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Accounting.

The Diploma in Business Finance and Accounting is the perfect start if you are new to accountancy or if you’re already working in finance but have no prior qualifications. You’ll be starting at the right level to suit your ability.

Entry Requirements

  • at least 17 years old
  • minimum 2 GCE O level passes (at least C6 in English and any other subject) (or) equivalent foreign qualifications (or)
  • Mature candidates (minimum 25 years old with 2 years of working experience) with minimum 1 GCE O level pass or equivalent
  • SPM (2 Subject Passes – One of them must be English)

Assessment

This qualification encourages the use of a range of assessment strategies that will engage learners and give them an opportunity to both demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of a topic and to evaluate how they might apply that knowledge in a given context.   
We would recommend avoiding an over-reliance on essay writing and that more varied types of assessment are included. This might include assessment through:

  • The compilation of a case study
  • Supervised and observation on practical
  • A set project completed for an employer (also known as an ‘employer-engagement’ activity)
  • Quizzes and MCQ
