Diploma in Hospitality

Programme

The learners will gain on the job experience whilst learning and will obtain a Diploma in Hospitality, it will access to many educational pathways towards their studies, such as ATHE Level 4 in Business and Management which can lead to a UK  Bachelors Degree in 2 to 3 years.

The Diploma in Hospitality programme aims are to provide the learner that:

  • understanding of the Hospitality Industry and of the key functions within a hotel,
  • provides a practical award that complements academic studies,
  • enables students to gain credit for higher education,
  • enables students to develop practical skills that can be applied in a vocational context and provides an introduction to the basic skills of students entering the hospitality industry.

Method of Assessment

This qualification encourages the use of a range of assessment strategies that will engage learners and give them an opportunity to both demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of a topic and to evaluate how they might apply that knowledge in a given context.   

 This might include assessment through:

  • The compilation of a case study
  • Supervised and observation on practical
  • A set project completed for an employer (also known as an ‘employer-engagement’ activity)
  • The production of a portfolio of evidence relating to a particular unit

Entry Requirements

  • at least 17 years old
  • minimum 2 GCE O level passes (at least C6 in English and any other subject) (or)
  • equivalent foreign qualifications (or)
  • Mature candidates (minimum 30 years old with 8 years of working experience) with a minimum 1 GCE O level pass or equivalent
  • SPM (2 Subject Pass, one of them English)
